Register in Probate

The Register in Probate (RIP) coordinates the judicial duties and administrative functions of Probate Court assisting in the probate and management of all estate proceedings with or without a will, and also trusts, guardianships, conservatorships, protective placement and commitments related to mental health, and alcohol and drug abuse.

There is one part-time assistant to the RIP who assists in answering questions about the process and procedures in probate court. An appointment is recommended to limit wait time.

The Wisconsin Court System website (www.wicourts.gov) provides current forms and quick links. It is inappropriate for the RIP or assistant to provide legal advice; an attorney should be consulted for such questions.
