District Attorney

The District Attorney is a Constitutional Officer, elected every four years by the voters of Door County.

The primary role of the District Attorney’s Office is the prosecution of adult criminal violations, criminal and non-criminal traffic citations, ordinance violations and juvenile matters such as delinquent acts and those in need of protection or services.

Frequently, the office serves as a conduit for citizens’ complaints, routing those complaints to agencies such as the Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Revenue, Legal Aid, Consumer Protection and the like.

The District Attorney’s Office also has a Victim/Witness Program that works extensively for victim advocacy, explaining to them their rights and helping them through the legal process.
